Volcano Villa is a beautiful Victorian house built around 1900 and faithfully restored. It's located overlooking the spectacular Lyttelton harbour and just 15 minutes drive from Christchurch.

The Lyttelton harbour was formed 11 million years ago when the Banks Peninsula volcano exploded, leaving a large open crater which the sea flooded. Fortunately the volcano has been long extinct! Lyttelton is a buzzing little village with heaps of entertainment, cafes and restaurants.

We offer spacious accommodation with a queen-sized bed, tasteful furnishing, TV and tea and coffee making facilities in your room.

Relax and have breakfast in the elegant day-room or enjoy coffee on the verandah watching the ships come and go in the port. Then head out to explore the delights of Lyttelton, the charms of Christchurch and the beauty of the Banks Peninsula. Just behind Volcano Villa, the Port Hills and Banks Peninsula offer great opportunities for rock climbing, mountainbiking, sea kayaking, walking, trail running; all on the door-step!
